Aesthetic Restorations

Aesthetic restorations aim to recover the natural beauty and functionality of teeth. It involves procedures that remove the damaged tooth structure while conserving the maximum amount of the hard tissue of the teeth and restoring its natural look. It also involves procedures that are intended to enhance your existing teeth like replacing a cracked or missing tooth, chipped tooth, irregularly shaped tooth etc. so as to improve the function of your teeth as well as your smile.

Direct Aesthetic Restorations

Direct restorations are entirely fabricated inside the mouth in the clinical setting without the involvement of a dental laboratory. They can be usually completed in a single sitting without the need of temporary restorations. The decayed tissue is removed, tooth is shaped and dental fillings are placed into the cavity. The tooth can be completely restored and you will be able to return to your usual activities without any restrictions. Such restorations can also be used to repair minor chips and cracks in the teeth.

Indirect Aesthetic Restorations

Indirect restorations are fabricated outside of the mouth in a laboratory setting after taking the required measurements from the mouth. Crowns, bridges, dental implants, inlays, onlays, veneers etc. are examples of indirect restorations. It usually takes at least two dental appointments to place an indirect restoration. Depending on the case, if the fabrication work requires time, a temporary restoration can be placed until the permanent restoration is cemented in place.
